The POWER and effectiveness of the Facebook LIKE button is not really understood by many. Facebook has a unique mechanism built into its operating systems, that enables a ‘simply clicking of the LIKE button‘ to generate tremendous exposure for the link clicked on.

In simple English 😉 if you click LIKE on one of our Sapphire Dawn Jewelry posts, OUR POST and LINK will then appear automatically on the NEWSFEED (ie: main page of Facebook) of ALL the people on YOUR friend list.

For example, say for instance I am wanting support for my township ladies and put up a simple post here on our Facebook Business Page and one of our fans (who has 100 friends on their friend list) clicks LIKE on whatever we have said. The result is that ALL 100 friends of our fan who has kindly just clicked like on one of our posts will see our Sapphire Dawn post on their Facebook Newsfeed.

If in turn another person clicks like on the same post then all their friends on their friend list will see our Sapphire Dawn post as well. Its basically a way of getting exposure and advertising and its very effective. Your simple click with your mouse is very powerful stuff!

At Sapphire Dawn we are constantly trying to find more work for our team of township ladies and their Jewelry. We dont expect our fans to all purchase our Jewelry, however…the kindest and most effective support we can ask you for…is that simple magic click with the mouse on the LIKE button whenever we post something on Facebook. This will be an enormous support to us. The mission of our company is to combat poverty and unemployment in S.Africa and any way of getting the word out there is valuable exposure and advertising for my girls. This is a daily challenge that we as a team are facing. For every woman that I can offer employment to in S.Africa there are at least 10 that I sadly have to turn away. Its our 11th year of our journey and we would not be over-coming challenges had it not been for our clients and fans who support us.

Want to show support for our cause? Use that powerful CLICK from now on, and know each time you do click LIKE its helping us in S.Africa to slay the giant of poverty and bring back hope and smiles to good kind souls who are working and trying their best to break out of poverty and be able to dream again.

We value and are grateful for each one of you! Regards and blessings,

Chanel & Girls

This beautiful Crystal Ranges from Pale Lavender to Deep Purple in Color. Science tells us that the presence of Manganese in Clear Crystal produces the Amethyst and the amount if Iron in the Gem then varies the strength of the Purple Coloration. Wow isnt this interesting? I find it amazing to understand how these beautiful gems are created and formed.

Some interesting tails from History are that the Romans used to believe that Amethysts prevented Drunkenness and therefore used to drink out of Amethyst encrusted goblets! There are still some tribes today that like to wear an Amethyst or place one in their glass of wine due to this past belief. I do not recommend trying this in modern day though as we now drive cars and it was safer to apply this remedy when going by horse!

Various Mythologies state that this is a healing Gem stone which is worn to relieve stress, enhance personal strength & peace. It is a known fact that the Amethyst is also one of the Gem Stones for the 12 Tribes of Israel. All very fascinating as its a Biblical Gem Stone. Apparently when Aaron lead the Israelites out of captivity in Egypt he carried a large shield with each of the 12 Biblical Gem Stones encrusted in it. The Amethyst is also mentioned as one of the 12 pillars in the city of Zion in Heaven. Wow, I cant wait to see that! 🙂

At Sapphire Dawn Jewelry, we have many beautiful Amethyst designs. (Bracelets and Earring pairs in Sterling Silver as well) Take a look at the beautiful Sapphire Dawn Amethyst design below. Remember all Jewelry is Fairly Traded so by ordering you are making a difference to the lives of my team of Girls in S.Africa. Every order is of great value to us. ROSE QUARTZ GEM STONES

This is a beautiful soft Pastel Pink coloured Gem Stone. Have you ever wondered what causes this Gem Stone to be pink when its formed? The Pink colour is apparently created by the presence of Maganese in the rock when it is formed deep inside the Earth.

Most of the Rose Quartz in the world is found in South Africa & Namibia. Some has also been found in mines in Madagascar.

In Ancient times, the Chinese used Rose Quartz for carving their goddess of peace as the beautiful pink colour of this Gem was thought to reflect Gentleness & Wisdom.

Mythology suggests that this is the Gem Stone for Love, Compassion & Forgiveness. It is also said to symbolise the Healing of Emotions. Hence our beautiful ‘Love Cast in Stone’ Necklace designed and created by my team of girls in South Africa.

Being a lover of Gem Stones its always fun for me to read about the history of Gem Stones and the especially the Myths attached to them through the ages. According to my research 😉 the Tigerseye Gem Stone has been known through the Ages to be the “LUCKY Stone”.

It was worn around people necks who were traveling to bring them good luck & also just for those who simply thought they needed a “Lucky Stone” to bring them good luck in their endeavors.

Besides amplifying Good Luck, this “Lucky Stone” represented Happiness, Serenity & was also said to stimulate Intuition.

It’s name comes from the way the Light catches the Gem when the Stone is turned…resembling a cat’s eye..or a Tiger’s Eye! This is obviously why its so attractive to be used in Jewelry. Tigerseye Gems are sought after all over the world and worn for their authenticity and their beauty.

My girls have quite a few beautiful Gem Stone Necklaces, Bracelets and Earring pairs in this pretty stone available. Please see our Sapphire Dawn Jewelry Website for more examples on http://www.sapphiredawnjewelry.com and email us for any additional requests or inquiries.

My team of Sapphire Dawn Jewelry have designed a beautiful new range of Gem Stone Necklaces, called our Semi Precious Stone Tear Drop Necklaces.

Amongst this beautiful new range is a new stone that we have chosen to work with called Prehnite. Prehnite is a lovely light green, translucent Gem Stone and has a feminine and really soft feel and look to it.

Apparently, Prehnite was first discovered in South Africa! This is also the 1st Gem Stone that was ever named after a man, Colonel Hendrik von Prehn who was a Dutch minerologist and lived in the 1700’s in South Africa.

Most Prehnite is translucent and has a pearl lustre to it. Its slightly similar in appearance to Jade, but more translucent with small darker speckles caught inside the beautiful light green. Prehnite is spoken about in Mythology and thought to symbolise Forgiveness and Acceptance.

Please do not hesitate to contact us via email for Prehnite Necklaces or Bracelets, on chanel@sapphiredawnjewelry.com

Love Cast in Stone : Turquoise and Quartz Crystal Gem Stones

Love Cast in Stone : Turquoise and Quartz Crystal Gem Stones

Turquoise is probably one of the Gem Stones we get our most requests for! History tells us that this Gem Stone was named in the 14th Century. The colour ranges from a paler to a brighter Turquoise and sometimes even to a green colour. On occasion one can see tiny brown veins appearing in this beautiful Turquoise Gem. The tiny traces of brown are minute iron compounds.

This Gem was originally brought from the Eastern Mediterranean to Europe by Levantine traders, known as the Turks. (Hence the name Turquoise was given to this Gem)

Turquoise was widely used in Jewelry by the ancient Egyptians. It was sought after by the American Indians as it was believed to be a “bestower of goodness” It was used during prayers to bring rain to the land.

Mythology teaches us that this Gem Stone is the Stone for Healing, Enhancing Communication, Peace of Mind, Friendship & Loyalty. Turquoise Gem Stones are the birth stone for December.

Inquire with us for Turquoise Gem Stone Jewelry- we have many beautiful items in this Stone. Remember Gifts that are Fair Trade bring smiles and hope to others. Please see our Website to support our girls at http://www.sapphiredawnjewelry.com

Garnets are definitely one of my most favourite Gem Stones.

This beautiful Deep Red Gem Stone originally got its name from the Latin word Pomegranate! In the 14th century it was thought that these Gems resembled the deep red seeds of this fruit.

Mythology states that this is the Gem Stone of Love & PASSION. It is said to be the “Gem Stone of Commitment” -to Purpose, to Others and to Oneself. With such beautiful and valuable symbolisms, this Gem Stone makes a very special gift.

The Garnet Gem Stone was valued by the Native American Indians, the Aztecs, the Mayans and the Egyptians.

We have quite a few Jewelry Designs of Garnet Gem Stone Necklaces, Garnet Bracelets and Garnet Earring pairs. Please email us or see our website on : http://www.sapphiredawnjewelry.com for some examples. Below is a beautiful Crystal, Garnet and glass leaves Necklace. We had the great privilege of designing this necklace for Celine Dion to wear at her show in Las Vegas!

Lapis Lazuli is a beautiful deep Blue colored Gem Stone. Although this Gem Stone is found around the world, it was first discovered in mines in Afghanistan by Marco Polo around 1271 and has a facinating history. It was exported all across the world from Afghanistan in ancient times.

The Ancient Egyptians used it mainly for their Seals (no not the furry creatures..we mean the Seal Rings that the Kings used to wear! It was a Royal Stone in Ancient Egypt especially loved by Cleopatra, who even started wars in order to get her hands on large supplies of this Gem Stone!

This Gem Stone is known as the Stone symbolizing Truth & Integrity. Mythology states that it is said to enhance Serenity, Success in Relationships & Self Acceptance.

As you all have probably noticed by now, I find the history of Gem Stones very interesting. The Stone I have chosen to discuss today is the Carnelian. This Gem Stone was known 1000’s of years before the Birth of Christ & used extensively in ancient Jewelry. It was very popular to use this Stone as the Gem in the Signet Ring of Kings & Queens. It has a beautiful rich orange-red Color.

The Carnelian Gem Stone is the Heart of the Agate Rock, so when the agate is broken open, its heart is made up of beautiful Carnelian Crystals. This Gem Stone was also one of the 12 Stones representing the 12 Tribes of Israel. Aaron carried his shield with one of each 12 Gems embedded as he lead the Israelites out of Egypt.

Just for fun : Myths state that it “protects the wearer from the tricks of the envious!” Mythology also states that this Gem Stone dispels all forms of Apathy.

For beautiful Carnelian Jewelry Necklaces, Carnelian Bracelets and Carnelian Earring Pairs please see our Website on http://www.sapphiredawnjewelry.com Remember all our Sapphire Dawn Jewelry is Fair Trade and brings hope and smiles to others.

One of the most Classic and attractive of all Gem Stones is most certainly, Black Onyx. This stone is a beautiful Black Gem Stone. When cut professionally it sparkles as the light catches it.

History tells us that Black Onyx was one of the Gem Stones said to be worn in the Breastplate of the High Priest in Biblical times. There was also a Black Onyx Gem Stone in the Breast Plate that Aaron carried as he lead the Israelites out of capitivity in Egypt. Mythology states that Black Onyx is said to be the Gem Stone of good fortune & happiness 🙂

My Girls at Sapphire Dawn Jewelry named the Jewelry design featured below ‘Love cast in Stone’  The Black Onyx is beautifully shaped into a heart with a decorative front center clasp.
